Detailed Itinerary for the 3 Days Chimpanzee tracking safari Nyungwe Forest Rwanda
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe forest National park
Following your choice of residence in Kigali, our driver will pick you up after breakfast, brief you about the safari and start the drive south west of Rwanda heading to Nyungwe forest national park passing through the beautiful rolling hills of Rwanda. Arrive in Butare town where you could have lunch and proceed to Nyungwe arriving late afternoon, relax, have diner and night stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Nyungwe canopy walk
Early morning head to Uwinka park headquarters for orientations about the chimpanzee tracking activity. Head out in the forest with experienced guides in search for chimpanzees, be on a lookout since the forest is not only home to chimpanzees but also shelters other primates such as olive baboons and vervet monkeys. On finding a chimpanzee family, have an hour interaction with them before retiring from the activity. Thereafter go back to your lodge for lunch and preparations for the canopy walk.
You will have your canopy walk in the afternoon through the beautiful tree tops of Nyungwe forest, get a choice to see primates jumping from tree to tree, impressive views of Nyungwe forest, birds and much more. Retire and head back to the lodge for diner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Visit Nyanza palace, Butare museum and transfer back to Kigali.
have breakfast in the morning, check out of your lodge and drive to Butare town to visit the largest museum in Rwanda containing the history and tradition of Rwanda with over 100,000 artifacts. After proceed to Nyanza palace home to Rwanda royal kings. Thereafter drive to Kigali where you will be dropped off to your place of choice. Lunch enroute.
