3 days gorilla trekking tour Rwanda, short Rwanda gorilla safari – trek gorillas Rwanda trip
Day 1: Drive to Volcanoes National park Ruhengeri and a visit to the Genocide memorial site.
This day marks the beginning of your safari trip, our driver will pick you up from your hotel or place of stay and you start your journey to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri. In the morning before your drive to Ruhengeri, depending on the time you have at hand you will visit the Gisozi genocide memorial center and get a chance to witness what happened in the 1994 genocide. See clothings of the victims, writings, and pictures, skulls of the dead and stories of what took place.
After lunch, you will then continue to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri, check in your lodge and prepare for your following gorilla trekking day highlight. Dine out and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National park Rwanda
Today is the day you have been dreaming of on your Rwanda safari, have an early breakfast and head out to the park headquarters for orientation about the gorilla trekking highlight at 8am. Volcanoes national park has 10 habituated gorilla families and here you will be allocated one gorilla family for your trek. You then start your hike in the jungles of Rwanda volcanoes searching for these endangered gentle giants in the park. The Rwanda gorilla trek rewards not only with gorillas but have a scenic view of the Virunga mountain ranges which stretch out to Congo and Rwanda. On finding your gorilla family, its only one hour you have with them before coming back from the wondrous trek. See them as they forage, have a gorilla selfie, and then retreat from this lifetime experience with the mountain gorillas.
The trek may take 1 hour to 8 hours depending on where you gorilla family is but it’s worth doing.
Our driver will then take you back to your lodge for relaxation and call it a day. Diner and overnight stay.

Day 3: hike to the Dian Fossey tomb site and transfer back to Kigali
Today after your early breakfast, you have another hike to the Dian Fossey Karisoke research site. The site is home to a lot of mountain gorilla collections, the tomb of Dian and her favourite silverback gorilla digit.She is buried between her beloved gorillas. Here you will get a wealth of information about mountain gorillas and the great work this American primatologist brought to the conservation of these mountain gorillas. The trek takes about 3-4 hours and takes you through some of the most beautiful forest stretch in the volcanoes national park
After lunch, you then return to Kigali where you will be dropped off to the airport or your place of choice.
